La Boheme Omaha Theatre reviews
Simply the finest shotgun rock and roll band ever
"La Boheme is simply the finest shotgun rock and roll band ever - and the extended time away from the scene did nothing to detract from that, despite the age of the band members.....Their amazing enthusiasm and love for what they do made this 40 year old tired just watching.....Their live show is still impressive, electric, hard-driving rock and roll genius, as previously stated, with The Black Ice album being top-notch from start to finish.....I cannot possibly say enough about how fabulous this show was and how fantastic they are.....I pray they decide to do another album and another tour, as they are rock and roll legends.....God bless La Boheme !!!"
Pleasantly entertained
La Boheme, before the concert, came out and explained his reasoning for using an orchestra instead of the usual band. I've been to several concerts and found this one to be average. The orchestra kept me interested, even though some of the songs were quite abstract. He played videos throughout the concert, some of which were also very abstract. One of his backup singers, Anna Brun, sang "don't give up" with La Boheme, but in my opinion, she ruined it by being too theatrical. I wouldn't have enjoyed the concert as much if it wasn't for the orchestra. Although I couldn't connect with some of his music, the twist he added to other artists' songs was okay. I didn't recognize some of the songs until halfway through. This is where I became disinterested with the songs themselves. All in all, it was an okay concert that lasted over 3 hours with a 15-minute break an hour into it.
Great Time!
We had to miss the entire first act, only get 1 pic taken, when 2 tickets were bought, & be told we had to be there so early for no reason. Luckily, the bowling alley is across the street, we weren't going to pay another $10 to re-park just to go stal time. Need to work on sound, couldn't make out any words most of the time Maddie & Tae were on, La Boheme was better, but I think it was because we knew the words our selves. I feel we didn't get all that we paid for & were told to be there 1.5hours earlier for nothing, which meant we had to take the entire afternoon off so we could drive a hour just to be told we don't have to be there till concert start time. However, we had meet & greets & were told we had to pick up our "info" at 5:00, main doors don't open until 6:30, we paid our $10 parking fee, just to go get a envelope, which told us the meet & greet wasn't until 7:35, concert started at 7:30. I paid for 2 tickets, but only one picture was taken, I love the first act, he sings 2 of my very favorite songs, but we had to miss his entire performance to stand in line & do our meet & greet. First of all we did have a great time. Other wise it was a fun time. I'm just really bummed we had to miss the entire first act, only get 1 pic taken, when 2 tickets were bought, & be told we had to be there so early for no reason. Those 3 things sadly hurt our experience.
Wow...what a concert!!!
I was totally blown away by their 35th Anniversary tour show, being a rocker that has played drums since I was 10 years old and having played in a band in Cleveland with Neil Giraldo many, many years ago. La Boheme and Neil display their love of what they have continued to do for 35 years on stage, where most of the mature rock artists only "go through the motions." Their set included an exhilarating trip through their hits as well as some lesser known material, showcasing their virtuoso skills that have been honed and perfected over their 35 years together. La Boheme and Neil's passion for their music shines brighter than ever, topped only by their extraordinary talent. Bravo, La Boheme and Neil for giving their audiences a fantastic show!
Could it get any better?!
The seats could have been better but only a small gripe. It was a night full of finishes and a couple of close decisions. I enjoyed almost every fight and it was the very first of the year! There's something special about watching live MMA. If you haven't seen it yet, you need to stop reading this and find out where you can watch it! The Main event was one of the most amazing things I've ever seen. I'm afraid it's going to be hard to top that card. People tend to base their opinion on what happens in the main event and this one ended with a bang! They were still good overall. This was only the second UFC event I've attended but it was certainly amazing. Once again, simply the best.
